We respect your privacy. This notice explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We act as the data controller for the Service. We use reputable data processors (e.g., managed hosting, email delivery, analytics) under written contracts.

1) Data we collect

  • Identifiers: email address, name (if provided), IP address, device/user‑agent, coarse location inferred from IP, referral URLs.
  • Communications: messages you send us (e.g., contact forms, replies).
  • Usage data: pages viewed, time on page, scroll/engagement metrics, subscription status, delivery/open metrics for newsletters.
  • Server logs & security signals: access timestamps, error logs, anti‑abuse/anti‑spam signals.

We do not seek special category data. Please do not send sensitive information.

We process personal data for:

  • Operating the Service (provide pages, deliver newsletters, maintain availability) — Legitimate interests / Contract (where applicable).
  • Analytics and improvement (understand readership to improve content) — Legitimate interests.
  • Communications (respond to enquiries) — Legitimate interests.
  • Compliance & security (detect abuse, enforce Terms, legal obligations) — Legal obligation / Legitimate interests.
  • Marketing emails (newsletter you opt into) — Consent. You may unsubscribe anytime via footer links.

3) Cookies, analytics & tracking

At launch, we use Ghost(Pro) managed hosting with first‑party, privacy‑respecting analytics. We do not deploy third‑party advertising pixels or Google Analytics. If this changes, we will update this notice and (for EEA/UK visitors) obtain consent before setting any non‑essential cookies. See the Cookie Policy for details. 

4) Sharing your data

We share data only with service providers that help us run the Service (e.g., managed hosting/platform, email delivery for newsletters, security and logging). These providers may be located outside your country. We do not sell personal data.

5) International transfers

Our providers may process data in various locations. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., EU Standard Contractual Clauses/UK IDTA equivalents or comparable frameworks) and limit access on a need‑to‑know basis.

6) Retention

  • Newsletter data: kept until you unsubscribe or we delete inactive records.
  • Contact messages: up to 24 months after last correspondence.
  • Server logs/security: up to 12 months unless we must keep longer for investigations.
  • Backups: retained for limited cycles.

7) Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, portability, and to withdraw consent. UK/EU residents also have rights under UK GDPR/GDPR. Hong Kong residents have access/correction rights under the PDPO. Some US state laws grant additional rights (e.g., to opt out of certain disclosures). To exercise rights, email hello@themeridio.com. We will verify your request and respond within applicable timeframes. You can also complain to your local supervisory authority.

8) Security

 We use HTTPS, role‑based access, least‑privilege, and routine reviews. No system is perfectly secure; please use unique, strong passwords for any accounts you maintain elsewhere.

9) Children

 The Service is intended for individuals 16+. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us to delete it.

 10) Changes

We may update this notice from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated notice.
